Thoughts on this hatchling
This is the little spider Hatchling that hasn't eaten yet. How does he look to everyone. Compared to his siblings he looks so skinny, but I don't know if he is in fact under weight. He came out of the egg on 11-13-12 and shed on 11-21-12. I have put mouse fuzzies, and a hopper and rat pinks, on seperate days/nights, to try and get him to eat, he just shy's away from them. The other 2 are eating great and are nice and fat. Thanks for any thoughts on this little guy.

I don't think he looks bad. Might just be a slow starter. I always have a few of those in each clutch. If they start getting wrinkles in their skin I assist feed.

Are you offering live? Are you leaving it in overnight? Perhaps try aspen bedding as well - they feel more secure because they can burrow in it. He doesn't look like he's in any trouble yet, though.

He doesn't look terrible. I put all my hatchlings on aspen and fill their tub with crumpled newspaper. Usually that's all it takes. For him I would put him in a deli cup with the live rodent over night, if he can't get away from it he might eat it. That's what I do with my shy feeders. I just put them and the rodent in the hide and put the hide door up against the wall of the tub so they can't get out unless they try pretty hard. That usually does the trick. I use the hide rather than a deli cup becuase my hides are really snug.

Well I tried the paper bag over night with him and a good size rat pink, and he was just snuggled up to it this morning He is a weird snake. When I gently slid him out of the bag and back into his tub along with the pinky, he started cruising around, so I put the pink back in the tub, and he crawls over it, comes out of the tub crawling striaght towards me face looking at me. I put my hand below him to make sure i would caught him if he kept crawling out, and he lowered himself onto my hand and crawled on it and was just going to hang out. I of course put him back in his tub, and took the pinky out and fed it off to one of the other snakes. Boy this little male spider is a weird one. I wish he would hurry up and start eating tho, He is so cute, I don't want to lose him. lol
