    Rack heating issues!

Hey I just got a boa masters rack at the white plains show and am having issues with heating. They gave me back heat an I hadn't noticed so I've been working with it. I got a ve-100 with the probe in the middle of the length of heat tape with the stat set at 90 all of my Acu-Rites were reading 100-113!!! So I bought some 3" belly heat now. Plugged it in, probe in the middle of the length and now I have temps of 95-105! Help! What's wrong?!

And that is with the higher ends of the temperature being the farthest away from the end that is plugged into the thermostat

    Are your thermometers accurate?
I've had 4 Acurites and half of them read 10 degrees differently from the others.

If your temps are indeed correct and reading that high, then lower your thermostat settings to a lower temp. But I'm a little doubtful this is the problem.

I think it is the thermostat. I have an infrared temp gun that is reading the same temperatures and when I feel it I can feel that it is hot.

    Re: Rack heating issues!

when i set my rack up i placed my temp probe for my thermostat directly on the flexwatt in the second tub slot from the top its a 4 tub enclosed rack and i have belly heat also. i had some crazy high temps at first but after a few hours they seemed to stabalize around what the thermostat was set at. im thinking it just took awhile for the end of the temp probe to get warmed up and once it did its been good ever since. i have been checking mine three to four times a day and so far after the initial set up it has been ok. i know its not much of an answer but hope it helps

The VE100 is also an off and on T-stat it will turn on until the spike raises the probe temp to the one degree over the set point. Then it will shut down until the probe temp drop below the set point. The average of the highs and lows should be the set point. Then you add in ambient room temps. These can cause the probe to heat slowly or quickly and alter the average. This begs the question what is the ambient room temp? If I were to guess I would figure it is low to mid 70s? If so raising the room temp to 80 may solve the issue of a cold probe.
