    New job!

So I'm finally escaping from the home I work at now. I love the residents I care for there and get along with most the cnas I work with, just have had problems with management and the structure they have started leaning towards with the new supervisors and director of nursing isn't a fair structure like write ups that make no sense. My write up that made no sense was I was scheduled to work 5/9 and I got wrote up for not doing the 930 rounds on the group which confused me since I was gone at nine. Well thru a month of searching I think I found a good job. They pay a dollar less an hr but are offering me 10-15 more hours per check and it's a smaller home so not gonna be as busy. And best part is its a mile from my house not even! My old job was 26 miles one way so 42 miles every day I worked was eatting up gas so badly. So I'm excited yet super nervous since I'm not sure how money will work out at the new job with the more hours and less travel I'm guessing ill actually come out of this with more money even tho they pay a dollar less so idk just nervous so had to type lol

Congrats! Management at the center i work at is crazy stupid too, i feel ya.

What do you drive? No matter what, cutting your commute from 42miles to 2miles should save you on gas lol.

I drive a 95 Chevy s10. It should be getting good gas but I hit a pot hole and ripped off the muffler like all the muffler from cabin back is gone so I get 17-19 miles. An the coolest thing about my old job is me and the assistant nurse manager got into a huge arguement over a patient being on oxygen. Basically I was following the care plan and putting o2 on the new NA assistant didn't read about her getting switched to 24-7 o2 and started to yell at me for applying it while I'm standing among every coworker that was on that day, so since I was in the right I argued back and it lead to us kinda yelling at each other and me saying if your gonna be the manager learn to read a care plan before you come yelling at people you b word. So I'm happy I got this new job lol

Congratulations and good luck, I hope you enjoy this new job!

And glad your new job is so much closer to your home! I sympathize with anyone who has to commute. Whenever I work in the office (which is almost every day during this time of year), my commute is about 31 miles one way. Not enjoying it at all. Field day commute varies, any where from 3 miles to 86 miles!

Does that have the 4.3L v6 in it? I have an '02 Blazer with that engine. I get about 17-19 on avg. it sucks, i cant wait to get something more fuel efficient.

OMG DUDE. I know like exactly what youre going through. Higher ups never freakin know what theyre doing. Its so dumb. I work in the kitchen and all the time people are coming in asking for stuff that patients cant have. Its like since theyre a nurse they think they have the authority to upgrade someones diet or give them whatever they want. If something were to happen to the patient id be the one to get in trouble though. . There are a few good cna's and nurses though that DO care and know what theyre doing, it sounds like youre one of them.

I try my best haha, I worked as a dietary aid for three years, I'm now on three years of CNA and just starting emt lol. My mindset is to always keep the best for a patient in mind I bust my ass and feel as tho I do a good job, this new job is one of three companies that I was in talks with over this last month and they were all happy with what I have to offer so it was kinda fun getting to pick and chose and be like well I can get more here but since your closer if you give me this and this amount of hours it's a deal
Yep I have the v6 supposed to be some Eco kinda v6 it says I should be getting 27-28 in the manual but my dads old s10 got 24ish and mine gets I'd say 18 average

LOL It costs me $20 to fill my tank and I can go 400+ KM (roughly 250 miles) on one tank. I love it.

    Nice.

I am not a fan of Crotch rockets. I am a more of a cruiser guy.
