So I dove head first into Smartphone land
Chanin and I both got the Galaxy S3 a couple weekends ago. We spent a nice chunk of my Xmas bonus on them. And boy is it impressive. I love the 4G and being able to access the internet in places and situations I wouldn't have been able to before. Still learning more about it. If any of you Android vets know of any really cool free apps to get let me know. I've got the biggest time waster ever called Instant Buttons. Also, have Netflix, Youtube, Facebook and a bunch more I haven't even looked at yet.

- Feedly: one of the best blog readers out there
- Spotify: good music, much better than pandora
- My Profiles: for customization of your phone (e.g. Night mode- all alarms/sounds turn off at preset times etc.)
- Camera360: Has like all the effects you'll ever need lol
- Any.Do: Great reminder app with nice widgets
- Happy Street: If your wife is at all into any cute games, that's the one to get

Lookout Mobile Security... It's a virus scan, backup and security app all in one, with a built-in lost phone finder. It's a MUST HAVE app for any Android phone IMO.
My story: I was at a furniture store looking at beds, so I was laying down trying every mattress in the store. I found what I wanted, bought my bed and when I left the store I reached for my phone to use the GPS to get home and my phone was missing. I logged into my lookout mobile website (using my wife's phone) and they have a "scream" function for lost phones where it will send a signal to your phone to emit an ear-piercing sound that doesn't stop until someone silences it. We found my phone within 10 minutes under one of the store demo beds. It had fallen out of my pocket and slid out of sight halfway under a bed...

1) Lookout Security - For the same reasons as Inknsteel said.
2) Flashlight app - flashlights always come in handy!!
3) Tapatalk - to look at BP.net without having to use the internet browser.
4) Photobucket - for BP.net
5) Juice Defender - Battery Saver
And since it's android, a lot of the google apps are great! Especially Google maps and Latitude.

We have family gps, which will locate the phone in case its lost or stolen. The scream thing is pretty cool though.

There are also lock and wipe features if you buy the full premium paid app rather than the free version.
