    Looking for some moral support.

    Hey guys,

I feel like this place is my second home. Had one of the worst days of my life today, just looking for some moral support because it's getting hard to keep moving forward. LOL

The day started of last night at around 10pm when I realized I've lost all of my ASF's for reasons I can't explain right now.. Long story short the result may be that I have to find a new place to live in the near future. I spent most of the night working on that situation.. Got about an hour of sleep before coming into my 12 hour shift today at work.

Got an email from my employer this afternoon.. Layoffs are starting after Christmas, and chances are my department is going to be one of them.. I also found out that I might be slapped with a $10,000 bill, again for something I can't explain at this moment in time.. Which means I'll be forced to sell my snakes to help dig me out of that debt.

When it rains it pours here in my world..

Only good thing that came out of the day is that I got offered a part-time gig with my rodent supplier. Looks like I'm going to go from upper middle class to homeless within a few months. Yay me.

Ouch. Hang in there. It seems pretty dark right now. Work on one problem at a time. Hopefully, you can work your way out of it.

I feel for you, my situation is not quite as bad but is not a huge amount better. Change is a big crazy scary moment, we all have had tipping points in our lives. You have come to what sounds like a large tipping moment. This could be viewed as an opportunity for a big change too. You might not get cut, (me too) You may get cut but find a different job elsewhere. This could be a chance to forge a new path ahead and leave the old behind. Part of my point is that you (and I) don't know what tomorrow will bring and the situation no matter what it is will not be helped by being depressed and freaked out with worry. I hope things work out and that you find a strong beginning of something new and exciting out of this!

    best of luck,
    Alex

    sorry dude that sucks
what do you do for work? can you find another job that will be in the same field? finding a job is hard but not impossible(i do not know about Canada though), start looking now. it would help you have some support, if you do get laid off.
As for snakes, do you have anyone close to you where you live that might be able to help you, by keeping them and taking care of them until you can get get back on your feet.

Re: Looking for some moral support.

Ooof! It sounds overwhelming to contemplate. But, at the time you posted, only one of the 4 or 5 potential disasters had actually happened: the ASFs were lost. I'm really sorry about that, and it must seem like a springboard to all the other crappy stuff that's going on. For now, though, you still have a job, a place to live, and your snakes. If you can work on one problem at a time, like one of the other posters suggested, there's a decent chance you can head some of these things off before they come to pass. Try not to get paralyzed by the worst-case scenario.

Best of luck, and keep us updated. Fingers crossed for better news next time we hear from you.

That sounds awful. If the situation is how I understand it, you had a massive amount of ASF running wild in your place? I have just started owning/breeding rats and my biggest nightmare is a teeming horde running around my place all frantic in the corners and getting into my stuff and making their way into the walls, etc.

I have no idea how I'd react to that but I feel for you. Good luck.
