Be careful what you ask for!! I'm new to this forum, but not new to herping....and I've been nailed many times over the years, and there were a few I wish I could forget. Wait til a Retic, a long-toothed Green Tree or a cranky Blood python bites ya, (or even a milksnake....they like to chew!!). Funny though, one of the worst bites I ever suffered was from a lizard not a snake, a big male Veiled Chameleon popped me really good once; sliced me like a razor. Had a few bad Retic bites too....not fun.
I don't ever remember being bitten by a BP, though I had a few wild-caught over the years that were really into hissing.
To prevent mistaken-for-prey bites I always wash my hands after handling rodents and before handling my snake, and I always feed my snake outside of his cage, (in a sweater box), so he won't expect food every time the cage opens. He now knows that food is coming when he's placed in the box, not when I'm just cleaning his cage.
