    What happened

So I will try to make a long story as short at possible. One of my mom's went into labor yesterday morning at about 10am when I went to bed last night she still had not delivered at 7am on my way to work I checked on her she had delivered but all the babies were dead and there was enuff blood to concern me she seemed OK but I am still a little worried. I will check her at lunch but she seemed to have delivered all the babies about 14 or so. O couple looked deformed and there was a mass that looked like a head only (not chewed). So my question is what could this have been. I would rule out a misscaraige as she was actually a couple days overdue and was huge when I separated her Monday night. Was this just a fluke or should I take her out of the breeding schedule. I will give her a few weeks before I even think about trying to breed her again. This was not her first litter and the previous litter was all healthy and strong and I even held one of her males back to add to another line. Thanks in advance as always guy and let me know what you think.

I can't answer what went wrong, I have seen it myself a few times, but not very often and some of those moms went on to deliver healthy litters later on.
I'd give her plenty of rest and some good nutritional treats if you have can and then in a few weeks to a month put her back into the breeding groups.

    Re: What happened

I feed everyone Mazuri and she will get at least 3 weeks to a month to recover For treats I use cereal like whole grain cheerios or kix. I am pretty sure she will pull threw but I guess time will tell.

That poor girl. I can't tell you what happened. Must be one of those odd gone wrong litters.

You can give that girl some Ensure or Yogurt to give her a boost.

    Re: What happened

Got home this evening and my little Bolt is doing much better. She enjoyed some nice yogurt and was looking a lot better and at least warm. The bleeding has stopped and she has settled down for the evening. I just hope this was either a fluke or stress related she is a great mom and has had a couple nice sized litters.
