What kind of rat is this? Is it recessive?

Rex coat, it's a dominant trait "so rat people say".
Works like an incomplete dominant trait ...

rex X rex = 25% double rex, 25% dtandard coat and 50% rex
rex X standard coat = 50% rex 50% standard coat.

Some more than others, some barely curl and others are twisted all up.

We produce a lot of rex coats and double rex's, the snakes don't care but it's a nice change of pace over white standard coats rats

    I concur.

Recessive hairless never at have that much hair at any point.

Not the best quality rex, so the type of rex he'll produce is iffy. Doubt you'll get any really super curly ones from him, but probably a variety of wavy to somewhat curly, in addition any standards he produces. His color (beige) is recessive though (and common).

Aww I'm so jealous, I really want another rex! I had a few but they all passed away and I was stupid and didn't hold back any of their babies
