male to females ratio
How many females can a male breed in a breeding cycle? I dont want to exhaust my males also I dont want to underestimate there ability. Thanks

This is speaking from secondary information but I think people will generally pair up a good sized male that's worked the girls before with maybe two or three?? Those seem to be some fairly common numbers.

Lots of things will effect the number of females that a male can safely breed. The size of the male, if he keeps eating, how often he is paired with each female. A healthy good size proven breeder male that keeps eating could be put with four or five females. You really have to know your snakes and watch to see how they are doing. It's always good to have back up.

also when each female starts their follicle growth (different times). if you have an ultrasound this can change the ratio too.

I think people generally do a 1 to 5 ratio. Really you could do as many girls as you want, but the more females you are breeding that male to the less each female will see the male. If he's with a different girl each time, it will take 6 days before he sees the next female (if you give him 3 days off).

I plan to do a 1 male to 3-5 female ratio.
It depends on alot of the things people already mentioned though^.

I'm planning on doing 1:4 in 2014-2015. It will depend on the size of both the male and females though, and how well they are all eating.
