    breeding temperatures please help

Ok I have read a lot about the ambient temps etc. I saw that day temps are around 82 and night are 76 to 75. My question is this..... What do you do with the uth. I have my snakes in racks. I have it set at 89. Does this stay constant through the winter months or does it drop? I would like info of people that have had success with this. Please explain. Do i keep it constant day and night at 89 or does it turn off at night? help me out please. This is something I am just not extremely sure about.

    thanks

Are you asking about maternal incubation or just breeding season in general? I don't drop my temps for the season personally. The ambient temps in my reptile room come down a couple degrees naturally, but the thermostats stay set where they are year round...

I don't maternally incubate so I'm no help there.

not for maternal incubation. This is just to get them into the swing. I will incubate in an incubator. I am wanting to know schedules for cooling the room and providing a lower gradient etc.

    Thank you

In that case, it's not necessary to drop temps for breeding season. Some do, some don't. I keep my thermostats set year-round and don't adjust. They know when it's time...

Some people drop temps, other people don't. Both methods work successfully.
I personally don't drop temps. I find it an unnecessary step that could result in RI and I would rather not take the risk.
My hotspots stay the same year round. The ambient temp drops naturally with the seasonal change.

    Hotside: 90
    Coldside: 80

    Ambient Summer: 80
    Ambient Winter: 70

Night and day temps are pretty similar since my house is well insulated. Maybe just a few degrees difference.

    Het to Het Albinos

    Pastel to Normal Girl

Same Pastel male to a different Normal, didt get any clutch pictures

These were all my first season of 2012, bred 4 girls and got 3 clutches without over thinking any of the process. The snakes know what and when to do it
