Emergency.. Is it time to go to a vet?

I recently just checked on my smallest ball python who sometimes ends up exposing where you would check for his sex and waste comes out of. Not sure if this is normal. For the past week I also noticed by his tail has looked a little fat but he hasn't had any trouble going to bathroom. So this morning I went to check on him and he has his tail sitting in a pile of waste but most of it is still attached to this pink mushie/bloody thing that is sticking part way out of his tail. Should I take him to the vet or would something as simple as soaking him in some warm water help?

hey, this sounds like a prolapse to me! REALLY important that it is not left to dry out! how big is the "pink mushy" area??
    would you have any photos?

Prolapses can be treated at home, sugary water can help, also you can attempt to gently re insert the prolapse yourself, but vet is probably best!
It could be the hemipenis or the rectum prolapsing, and since its happening often, i would defo go to a vet!

make sure that the area is kept clean, and i would soak him so it does not dry out! also, if he isnt already, make sure to put him on paper towel as substrate!

that is what it looks like. He had a bunch of substrate stuck to it so I put him in some warm water to wash it off and he didn't seem to like it to much. :/

I recently just got out of the hospital (yesterday) with a brain injury so I am still shaky so sorry if the pictures are blurry...

It is kind of hard to see the how big the pink area is because whenever I tried getting a picture he would move away. There is a noticeable amount though.

What can I do with sugary water to help for now? I am on super strong pains and can't drive at the moment to get a vet so I would have to wait a little bit to go :[

Generally, if you have to ask "should I go to the vet?" the answer is yes.

okay, that doesnt look good! it doesn't look like any prolapse i have seen?? usually it looks like a pink squishy ball like shaped mass, sticking out, it looks like its a tear or something? is all that black stuff substrate??

    that definately needs vet attention

Until you can get him to the vet, I would keep soaking his tail in warm water to try and get that area clean and keep it moist.
