Can I Keep My Rat Tank In My Ball Python Room?
Hey!
I have a fairly small apartment. What are your thoughts on keeping rats constantly in the same room as your snakes? Would the smell in the air do something detrimental? I know when my F/T rats are thawing in the same room my snakes get excited, so that got me thinking...
Thanks!

I'm turning my one spare room into my snake room with rat rack in one corner. It's my only option cuz I live in a smaller trailer house. The rats and my carpet share the room right now and she doesn't seem to care

My rat racks are in the same room as my snake racks and I haven't seen any negative impact at all. If anything, my snakes have a stronger feeding response because of it...

I have snakes, rats, and ferrets in the same room.
The snakes were a little more excited and active the first few days the rats were in the room. But they settled down and went back to normal right away.
And their temperments didn't change if you're worried that your snakes will become more aggressive.

Yup, did it in the old house with no problem, even now my hairless mice are in the snake room with no issues.

My balls have shared a room with the rats, and were fine. My boa shares the living room with the "pet rat" and he is fine too. Also, the balls are fine when in the living room with the "pet rat". I would say, Hakuna Matata! (Or for those not fluent in Disney, No worries!)

I have started breeding rats and mice on a small scale to help with a theory about switching my only mouser to rats! I have been keeping the rats, mice and snakes in the same room without trouble. One of my boaphile enclosures has a clear view of my rats and occasionally my Pastel Yellowbelly seems a bit mesmerized by the movement over there, but nothing else has changed.
