ぼくわ たいくつしています
bo ku wa ta i ku tsu shi te i ma su
What are you using to learn Japanese? I can only read/write hiragana and katakana. I have absolutely no vocab skills. I went to Japan and was able to read signs. NO IDEA what it meant haha.

Take a look at http://www.textfugu.com/ Textfugu is pretty good also. "Learn Japanese the hard way" It made me learn hiragana and katakana first though lol.
Genki textbooks is also a pretty good "traditional" way of learning.
