Hahaha. Your the second person to ask that, as I posted this on Facebook too. It's a wreath made of saplings behind my head giving the illusion that I have dreads....I wish I really did have dreads though

I for one did not vote this year, and for two reasons.

    1) I didn't feel that either candidate was worth casting my vote for. In my opinion one is a complete liar and the other has proven ineffective at getting things done. This is the third presidential election in which I have been old enough to vote and I decided that I wasn't going to be reduced to picking the lesser of two "evils."

    2) Kansas will always cast its electoral votes for a republican. If I lived in a state where it was going to be close I may have voted.

It used to be in the army that officers wouldn't vote because no matter who the president was we followed his orders, no questions asked, because we raised our right hands and swore to do just that. Being in Afghanistan I was sheltered from all of the political BS this time around and the election somewhat snuck up on me, however I still made the choice not to vote. That said, I absolutely will still hold whoever the winner is to their duty to do what is best for this nation and all of her citizens. If they drop the ball on something important then they need to own up and admit that they screwed up and then fix the problem, as it is what they expect us to do in the military. Something that I noticed this time around that wasn't as much of an issue last time given how much social networking has grown in the last 4 years is the use of FB to voice one's political opinions. I saw so much ignorant, racist and hateful crap that it nearly made me physically sick at times and it honestly caused me to change the opinions of many of the people that I am FB friends with.

I can not wait until tomorrow when all of this crap is over and done with.

    Re: I voted! Have You?

I voted! Just need to drop off the ballot at a polling place. (I live in a mail-in district, no assigned polling place, but didn't get the ballot in the mail in time.)

I just vote for the first time today. I didn't vote because I feel my vote matters, I voted because if the person I don't want to win wins I can at least say I did my part to try to stop it.

    I wanted to add:

Besides the big presidential part of the election....

On a local level I HAD to vote for my city council. There are some very significant changes that will be made to the city I live in, that will have an extremely significant impact on life for all residents in the city, depending on who is elected to the city council. Couldn't skip the election for that reason alone.

This state also has a number of propositions I wanted to make sure I gave my input on. These propositions covered a number of topics, including GMO food labeling, the death penalty, three strikes law, insurance company charges, and more.

I'm not fully convinced my vote counts for much in the presidential part of the election, but I do feel it has more weight in the local part of the election.

The "lesser of two evils" Still defines a 'better' candidate. Most people don't get the choice to help choose their 'boss'. Reading this from one of our own soldiers is somewhat disappointing to me. Nonetheless...Thank you for serving. Without people like you, there may not be any voting at all.
