I hold mine. In fact, he is the most calm and most personal snake I own. He will wrap around my wrist or neck and just chill for hours at a time and will not leave me. I adore my boas and they are wonderfully tame and have great personalities, but they come out and usually want to explore and investigate. My GTP is content to just be with me.
I have found that most GTPs are actually quite handleable if worked with gently, consistently, and respectfully.
I will not, however, put my hand in Hunter's cage after lights out. GTPs have very strong feeding responses and, as night hunters, they will hit anything that moves after dark.![]()
