Potential beardie cage?
I hope this post is in the right place. I wanted to see what you all think about this entertainment center I found at good will for 20 bucks.
It's about 5 feet long. It looks like if it were a tank it'd be 100 to 125 gallons.
I'm thinking of taking all the shelving out of the middle. The two shelves in the middle seem to be supports so I think I need to leave those, but I'm pretty sure I could cut big squares to the floor in them.
The boards that are sideways for shelves fit so perfectly that if I cut them small I could maybe put grooves in it to fit glass into them. The wood seems to be good quality bit the back is crap and will need glass. For the heat lamp I was think of having a square on the top with chicken wire stapled to it for the lamp to sit.
I'm not much of a craftsman so I don't know how realistic this is but I'm wanting to give it a try. My beardie is in a 20 right now and we feel like she's really needing a bigger enclosure already.
What do yall think? Any tips, thoughts or questions?
Thank you

I did something similar with an old dresser, we got sloppy cause we were in a hurry and moving but while it lasted it was awesome. I think it sounds great, maybe you can cut some shelves back to have ledges for climbing, my before liked to perch when he was younger.

Do this! Cut out sections of the shelves, reassemble, and slap some glass on the front of that bad boy and you have an awesome multi-level tank! I'd do away with all of the thin vertical slots in the middle, though. I'd love to see how it turns out!

Don't use glass, go with plexiglass. It's much easier to work with and much much stronger. A quality brand won't scratch easily but if you're concerned, buy it from a custom Plastics shop and they can make it scratch proof (at least for dragon nails) for an added fee.
