    Veggie Diet

I finally got my new beardies today. A very reputable reptile shop about an hour away had a very good breeding year and had tons of them so they were BOGO Free!!! Woohoo. Pretty sure I got 2 girls. Anyhow every care sheet I have read list all the different veggies to feed them. My concern is if I want to provide a good mixture of greens and such is there a good way to make them last? Could I chop them up and portion them out and freeze the portions? When needed I could thaw it out and feed them? Does anyone have any advice on this? I just don't want to buy a bunch of veggies and have it go bad before my new babies eat it all.

    Thanks

Veggies aren't as big a part of young bearded dragons diets. As they get older they start eating less insects and more greens.

What I do is get enough greens to last a week then feed any excess to my crickets. This way nothing goes to waste.

Thanks! I hadn't actually thought of feeding excess to the crickets. I bought some of that orange colored gut load stuff to feed the crickets. Supposed to be food, water and vitamins too. I am thinking of going with Dubai roaches for meal worms rather than crickets but not sure if it would be worth the trouble with only 2 Beardies.

If Dubai roaches were legal in Florida I would have a colony... I hate crickets. They smell bad and at times make a lot of noise. I would feed my beardie dubias and veggies exclusively.

    Re: Veggie Diet

Each morning, my leftover greens and veggies get thrown in my blender with some fruit and become my breakfast smoothie. Except for the Bok Choy. I cut the stalks up and eat it with my lunch at work...
