Positioning of thermometer
I bought this thermostat and there is a 2m long cable with it and a sensor on the end. Where is the best place to put it and how is the best way to hide the cable?
I have a cork background and thought maybe squeeshing it in behind it would be the best.

Re: Positioning of thermometer
Put the thermostat probe where you want to control the temperature. If you want to control how hot the hot spot gets, then put it over the hot spot - perhaps hidden inside the warm side hide. Hiding the cord behind the cork background should work very well.

Are you talking about a thermometer or thermostat, if you care referencing a thermostat don't put it inside the enclosure. If you do so it could be moved accidentally or the snake could urinate on it causing an increase in temperature and burning your snake.

Re: Positioning of thermometer
Thank you both for replies. So if I dont put it inside. I stick it to the glass on the outside? on the middle of the side where the hotspot is?

ThermoSTAT probe goes on the outside of the tank, directly over the UTH. This way your snake can't reach it, move it, pee on it.
A thermoMETER probe should go on the inside of the tank, ontop of the bottom glass above the UTH. although, temp guns aren't that expensive and a lot better IMO

Re: Positioning of thermometer
Thank you :-) I forgot to add that it is a probe from a thermostat.
