    Random death. *Graphic Pic warning*

About 9 am this morning I got up and did the usual daily activities, check on the snakes and clean any tubs that need to be. Along with checking on the rats. Well before I left to work this morning (around 10am) I know I checked on EVERY snake and everyone was fine and dandy. Came home about 2 hours ago to our newest female dead.

For the past few days she has had light diarrhea every single day ( I LITERALLY cleaned out fresh diarrhea EVERY morning for the past 3 days)
I thought it was very weird so I called up the vet and made an appointment for Monday November 5th. Didn't think much of it at first but I didn't want it to go untreated if it was something serious. Guess we will have to cancel that appointment now....

Still not sure what she had, but luckily she was in quarantine at the time. Any ideas what it could have been? :/

Thanks everyone! Let's hope tomorrow is a better day.

I would keep the appointment and see if the vet can test her to see what was wrong. Be very careful not to cross contaminate anything. Sorry for the loss.

Thanks a lot. Would I just freeze the body?

Freezing will destroy the tissue needed in a necropsy. Put her in a zip-lock and place her in the fridge til Monday.

That sucks. How long had you had her and have you contacted the indivual from who you purchased the snake? I would ask if any of their snakes are exhibiting similar symptoms and also talk about getting your money back if it was very recently acquired. How old was she?

We have only had her for about a month. She didn't eat for me. Not once. I offered her live and dead twice a week for 4 weeks. Didn't even seem interested in food. I tried to contact the seller but no response.. Not sure about age either but I would say around 2-2 1/2 yrs.

Keep trying to get a hold of the seller, sounds like they may have known that the snake was sick if they are failing to get back in touch with you after repeated attempts on your part.
