Snake recently recovered from scale rot and looking to breed him this season

I had a snake that had minor scale rot and has been treated. I want to breed him this season season. His scales are still rough and he needs to shed to be completely recovered. He is also off food ( I am unsure if that is from the infection because all of mine are off food now). Do you think it will be ok to put him in with a female in 2 weeks or should I wait for him to shed so he has a new skin? Can the females catch it from him?

Hm, look up some info on scale rot, I don't think it's contageous. He should be completley fine to breed, but also might not breed if he is too freaked out about having an infection.

Yea. I got him with it and I made it worse by putting neosporin on it. He is better now but the scales are still rough from them falling off from the neo. He needs to shed again and he should be fine. I may have to pic up another breeder male.

It is contagious. Scale rot is a bacterial infection, you should not breed him and also put him in quarantine. Even if he sheds and looks fine, he may still be infected. If it was a burn then thatīs another story...

Yea I am going to wait a little bit with him. He is better now and all my other snakes seem to be fine. He just has some rough spots where the scales fell off.

I don't know the answer regarding scalerot, but I wouldn't recommend pairing a snake who hasn't even fully recovered from such a nasty infection. Quarantine should start over, and you should avoid putting him with females intil the infection is long gone... And not just a little better.

Yea well maybe I should post some pictures. Like I was saying he has been better for a few weeks, but his scales have not still fully healed from where I put the Neosporin. He is acting completely normal.
