Ball Python's do better in tubs in racks for the simple reason it's small confined and usually dark in the rack for most breeder's and advanced keeper's. I suggest yet again like a lot of others have already is to buy a 12qt-28qt tub from Walmart and get a heat mat and zoo-med thermostat for like $50-$60 That's all you need besides a water bowl, hide, and substrate which ever you choose.

PLEASE NO!!!!! The 500R is complete junk. Of the junk T-stats it is junk. I had one once and it was so bad I cut the probe off so no one would ever use it again even accidentally.

Herpstat intro would be my top suggestion, herpstat intro my second suggestion, and ve100 would be the cheap one but as 20$ separates them I would seriously lean to the herpstat. A t-stat is the singular most critical item in the health and well being of the snake. A good T-stat with a poor enclosure is better than the best enclosure with a poor T-stat.

disregard lol I changed my mind.

what do you all think about these specs?

    34 1/2L X 14W X12H

I will be using a divider in the tank. Would a ball be able to live it's entire life in a enclosure this size? What are some specs that you suggest? Thanks!

Most people use the cb70 tubs for adults. The footprint is about that size. Off the top of my head I think it's close to 33-34" L 17" W 5" T

If I was going to use a cage I might get something a little deeper that 14"

I find 12 too short. I hate the short opening 7.5 inches is not large enough to clean inside easily. 34 is large even my sub-saharan female is not is that large 30x24x18 for her she is 3800 gm this morning she is larger than average. I don't think 14 is wide enough for a large adult. My ideal size would be 24x24x14 for most. I might go with a 30x24x14 or maybe 32x24x14 if I had that option.

Personally I would get a cage that was 18" w (front to back)

    12" high is fine
