I'm not a big fan of feeding videos. They're exciting, interesting, and fun for us! But, they really get us a lot of flak elsewhere. I know "If you don't like it, don't watch it" applies, but for some people it's legitimately disturbing footage. They can't help their reactions (phobias, ignorance, willful ignorance) and it can really alienate people from the herp hobby, causing that many more people to root for the various legal restrictions that are building up. Not saying it's bad, or that we're in the moral red for posting them/having them/enjoying them, but it really doesn't help the situation at the moment
That being said, I've taped a few feedings, but they're stored on my computer for my own viewing and controlled educational situations

I only have a pic or two of my lesser pastel eating a f/t rat. Which is like a rat pup..nothing too exciting.
Honestly though, how can you tell the difference in a picture? (IE the actual eating part / coiling) I mean..it's not like it has icicles hanging off it's whiskers or anything.
Except for maybe the last medium rat I fed my big girl...Decided to try the "Overnight in the fridge" thaw method. Woke up to a rat with one helluva nose bleed. His head was covered in blood by the time I fed him to my girl...I honestly think the look she gave me was "What the HECK did you do to this thing mom?! GEEZ! Beat the crap out of it much?" ok probably not...more like "Nomnomnom"....but whatever. I entertain myself.

I got a kick out of feeding live when I was like age 13-16 now that I'm much more experienced and older I don't see the need to feed live prey unless the snake refuses F/T or P/K prey. I don't watch my snakes eat, I feed them at night then turn the light off and leave the snake room so they can eat in peace without some giant watching over them lol.

I find the process interesting as a byproduct of wanting to understand the ball python's behavior, but I don't care to watch the feeders die for the sake of them dying. It's especially upsetting when it isn't a "clean" kill. I'm about to start the conversion to F/T now that he has some weight on him, so hopefully I won't have to deal with live feeders for a while afterwards. At least, until I get another snake.
