Frustrated, bummed, and a little angry

Okay, so as some of you might know my and my girlfriend were going to be moving into her great grandfathers home, since he passed away and her parents inherited the house. It's in the process of being revamped and so we wouldn't be able to move in till probably December.

Now here's why I mad this rant thread.

Her mom and dad don't have the best relationship and there have been numerous fights and talk of divorce, but nothing has ever happened and my girlfriend always just says that how it goes.

Well her mom has been joking for months about moving into the house well before she offered it to us. Well, her mom and dad got into a fight the other night, but me and my girlfriend didn't know about it. We both had work from 11p-7a and her mom said she was driving my gf sisters dog home and she would see us the next day.

We come home the next day and her mom is no where to be found and her dad asked if we knew where she was because she never came home. She my gf calls and she answers and after about 10 times of asking where she was she said she spent the night at my gf sisters house.

No here's the kicker, she's taking the house me and my gf were supposed to move into for herself. Just up and said you can't have it now, she's moving down there. For the main obvious reason we are not happy at all. My gf asked who was going to be paying the bills at the house we live in now and her mom said she didn't know.

Her mom keeps lying and being really immature about the whole deal and keeps leaving the house for the whole day without telling anyone where she's going. My gf has to scream at her on the phone to get an answer.

So no we have no place to move into, and we sure don't have the money to pay the bills on the house so we are pretty frustrated.

My gf doesn't want to live in an apartment because there isn't as much freedom to do what you want and we are running out of options.

I'm not really expecting any advice or anything, but I really needed to get that off my chest.

Words to live by. I know. Haha. It just really angers me and my gf because we already bought a washer for the place and painted the walls the colors we wanted. All those hours and money for nothing. Her mom said she would pay us for what we already bought, but still that's not the point.

I was planning on picking up a female or two at the white plains show in November and was really excited. Looks like that dream got shot down for the utmost time.

Oh well, at least I have a good job now with good money and so does my gf for that matter.

So another day another dollar for now!

Also sorry for the bad grammar in the initial post, I was at work and pretty tired.

This is the key right here. Unfortunately, many people are just plain unreliable and can't be counted upon to actually follow through with their promises. Trust in yourself and your girlfriend, work hard and save as much as you can, and eventually, you won't need to rely on others. Good luck.

What freedoms would an apartment not allow you? I would move closer to your work in an apartment there.

An apartment doesn't have to be a permanent solution, just a temporary living situation so that you two can get the :cens0r: out of there. What it lacks in "freedoms" it may make up for in restoring a little sanity. It sounds like you guys are in very close quarters with her family.

I know you weren't looking for advice, but holy crap does that sound frustrating

Well, if "that's how it is"; I'd give it another couple days and maybe it'll blow over. Just keep your head up, work hard, and earn what you want rather than give someone the chance to rip it out of your hands due to their selfishness.

Apartments are frustrating. You can't change anything about them physically, you are limited on the pets you can have, in terms of species, numbers and size. You can't utilize the facilities in many of them after a certain time. You get obnoxious upstairs neighbors. If something goes wrong you have to wait for the office people or your property manager to send someone out to fix it, and those people are unreliable at best. Etc. The list goes on and on. It sucks. But financially, it's more feasible than a house for most young people, and that's the significant benefit of putting up with the lack of control.
