I woke up today with my ball python wedged between his hide and the side of his cage and he was not moving and was barely breathing, so i was scared, i put him in a box and called a vet "they are colsed till monday" and while i was on the call i notised my ball python stopped moving, i was very sad because at that point i knew it was over, there was no breathing at all, and i looked at his belly and it looks like his heart leaked blood or something, because hes was internally bleeding, oh, forgot to mention, it look like he mightve broken his jaw when he was wedged between his hide and the side of his cage, im really sad and i dont know waht i should do, i hope he is not alive because i know he wont make it and i dont want him to suffer, please help, please

also he hasnt eaten for a bit before that, i think one if three things, his heart was leaking blood, there was alot of internal blood, may be because after he died though, some type of brain trauma, he was acting a little funny before that "first bp so i didnt know wahts normal" or last one, which i doubt, is food, but he wen only like 3 weeks without food, i know it may be a lot but my vet told me they do that sometimes...

I'm sorry for your loss. I know its hard. I am unsure what to do with him. I honestly would call around for another vet. Some are open on Saturday that could at least offer you some advice.

I would look into getting a necropsy done. If you have other snakes in your collection, it would be wise to know what caused this. Sorry for your loss, losing a pet is never easy.
It is normal for snakes to go on food strikes. How old was your bp?

Stuck between the hide and side of the tank? That really really sucks... I moved all my hides away from the side when I first saw my girl get kind of stuck there. But I found it very strange that your snake can get it's jaw broken and have a bursting heart from getting stuck though. Maybe get a nercropsy done like bleeedingorange says?

I agree, I don't know your living arrangements (whether you live in a house, apartment, condo, with your parents, on your own, etc.) but if you have a backyard and are allowed, a burial for your BP would definitely be appropriate.

Yes, i know i would like to bury too, but both of my parents are moving so i have to wait but by then he will be half decomposed...

I'm sorry, but did he have blood running down his belly? Or red dots/lines in the scales? It makes a difference. How did you determine there was internal bleeding? Also, head resting up against the side of the tank isn't that odd, and falling off his hide would not be high enough to break his jaw. BPs are much more resilient than that. My normal fell from the height of my neck once, down my back and onto the tile floor. I bent over trying to catch him so he only fell maybe 3ft, but still. Much farther than off a hide and he was just fine. Did you hear any strange popping or wheezing sounds coming from him? Did he rub his nose on the glass a lot?

+1 my ball python always topples over from trying to touch the screen top and it doesn't faze her a bit. I really think there's something more to your snake just being caught on the side of the hide. I really think you should get a necropsy. If your snake's heart did explode/leak there has to be a very crazy underlying problem to that.

Not to sound horribly insensitive, but you can always freeze him. That will at least preserve his body until you can give him a proper burial. So sorry for your loss.

thank you everyone for your ideas on how to take care of the situation, all of this i will listen to, btw no he didnt have a respiritory infection, he fell about 4 feet once, is was onto a bed, but he fell horrible wrong, that mightve been what caused it
