    Weening

Well my first litters are eating on the rat blocks and drinking water so I decided to put them all together in a separate tub to grow out. They were born Oct 7 is this to young to separate from momma I want to get the mommas bred again.

You can wean rats as early as 21 days.

    Re: Weening

X2 I wean mine at the 3-4 week mark or as soon as they start eating food regularly. You should also notice the mom not wanting to nurse them as much about the same time. After I separate the babies I give my moms a couple weeks before I toss them back in with dad.

As long as the mother doesn't have a very large litter(15+) I always wean at 3 weeks.
