I have to say this because its the Internet and I can lol. I don't get the appeal of country music at all. It's probably because I was born and raised in cities. Nothing about the genre appeals to me. Other than every girl looks Hawt in a cowgirl hat. Lol. The twang, the southern drawl, the look and don't even get me started on the lyrics. And I just want to say, I have many friends who like it, so I don't shy away from people just because they like it. I just have no time for it. I feel like some peeps will disagree with this but everyone is entitled to an opinion.

It honestly depends on my mood/ what I'm doing:
20s-40s - when I'm brainstorming, driving or trying to relax (main thing I listen to)
60s underground music when I feel like being a bit weird
Early 90s for the nostalgia (pretty rarely now adays)
00+ electronica when I'm doing something that requires full concentration
The thing about trying to peg an era of music that you like is the simple fact that after said era (say the 40s), that type of music is still seen throughout the rest of the decades. For instance, there's a newer band call Pokey LaFarge and the South City Trio that I am currently in love with that have a very 20s-40s feel, but I can't lump them in with the 20s-40s because they are in fact a very current band. It's just kind of hard to peg a favorite era of music when a) you like a bunch of different kinds of music, and b) eras consistently copy from past eras and are inspired by them and not only that, but continue through them.
