Ugh... he creeps me out just looking at his picture!! Its really sad, all the killings and whatnot going on lately. Its makes me scared to let me children out of my sight even for a second!!

I feel bad for the girl, i dont know the whole story but from my point of view from why all these little girls are getting kidnapped has something to do with the internet. These little girls, dont realize all the stuff they put on FB can be found by ANYONE! And i know a lot of them who have their cell phone numbers, and almost everything about their day. I do not go of FB very often(maybe once every 2-3 weeks) just because i cant stand half the stuff that is on their(aka i dont care what you had for dinner).
As for the guy, i would not think twice about putting a bullet between his eye(sorry if its against the TOS to say that), its guys like him who i have no remorse for and trust me when hes in jail and the other inmates find out what he did, he will pay 100x worse and wish he was dead.

Ugh I just read a horror story about a kid being stalked and what makes it even worse is knowing there are people out there really like that. It's people like this who make me want to get a well trained dog for my (when the time comes) kids to drag around.

Actually, having a child kidnapped by someone outside the family and murdered is EXTREMELY rare. Most children listed as "missing" are runaways that return quickly. Most that are "taken" are taken by a non-custodial parent. Most the ones not taken by the non-custodial parent are taken by a family member. Out of those remaining, many are released unharmed. Only a very tiny sliver of a percentage of children end up as a tragic murder victim.

Not to take away from the fact that it happens... but the odds are vastly greater that a child will die from a car accident than from a kidnapper. The only reason that it seems like there is a 'rash' of children going missing is the media decides to run a lot of stories to gain reader/viewers. Just like the "summer of the shark" where everyone wondered why so many more shark attacks, it's the media throwing tons of stories up, and implying there's many more happening than usual.

Think about how many of these children tragically killed by a stranger you see.. perhaps a dozen per year in the news? Let's assume that there's about ten times as many that never make it into the news(with reporters scanning for "bloody news" to put up, I think it might be pushing it to say that many go unnoticed). That's 100-150 children... out of how many million children in the US?

My personal opinion is that the scares in the 80s about "stranger danger" and the parents freaking out and keeping the children inside under their constant sight has led to the current trend of kids who sit at home watching tv and playing video games instead of running the neighborhoods playing.

Last I'd heard about this particular case was TWO teens in the neighborhood had killed her... if so, I hope they do try both as adults. Kids that will murder a innocent ten year old will not suddenly turn into model citizens just because they turn 21 years old.

Don't forget, the best FBI statistics estimate that 1 in 4 convicted rapists in prison today are likely innocent, and it's emotional reactions (just like yours) to tragedies that destroy even more innocent lives.
