I don't know anything about them, but a quick search dug this up.

Wow the Acanthosaura capra looks exactly like a cross between a green iguana and a Chinese water dragon! Cool

I used to have a pair. They love to climb so a vertical cage is best. We filled ours with vines and branches and they loved it!
As far as food goes, we fed crickets, superworms and night crawlers. The night crawlers were the favorites.
These are almost all WC and not a lot of people have worked with them. Ours only lived for about 6 months.

I love the looks of them I'm just stumped as to the water from what I've read you need too have moving water, so would like a bubbler work? I'm trying to find a none snake herp to be the mascot of the snake/ rat room I'm settin up haha it's between one of these guys or a pacman frog, I like the Parkman cuz he can eat extra rat pinkies but horned dragons looks soo cool had to hear what other keepers think of them can't find tons online (could be cuz I'm limited to iPhone searches)

I've been tempted by pacmans for ever now haha I got a twenty gallon long tank just sitting unused I think one would enjoy lol the horned dragons are in a cage right next to the pacmans so every time I window shop I'm standing in front of those two tanks while my dog try's to visit everyone that walks by and try's to climb into the farret cage to "play"

We had a waterfall and a bubbler, neither worked as well as spaying the sides of the glass and the leaves. I think a dripper would work as well.
There isn't much online, even when you aren't on the iPhone

Re: Mountain horned dragon?
I have a MHD. They're really very sweet critters, in all honesty. Since they're ambush hunters, once the settle down, they'll just hang out on your shoulder or head for hours. I've had my boy, Wrex, hanging out on my head for a good two hours while I was vaccuming, and I almost forgot he was there! As far as care goes, they're about the same level of work as a Crestie, with similar temp/heat/cage requirements. They're a bit bigger, but honestly mine mostly just perches anyways, so I think you may be able to get away with a smaller cage than most places recommend. Mine is in a 1.5 ft x 2 ft x 3 ft (l x w x h) glass terrarium with coconut bark substrate, homemade baked branches, and reptivine so it's very arboreal seeming. He also has a bowl big enough for him to soak in, with a pump that's meant to keep cat waters fresh to keep his water moving. However, I don't trust it, so I mist his cage once a day. Wrex for some reason hates nightcrawlers, so mostly I feed him crickets which he loves. He eats about 10-15 gutloaded large crickets every other day. Honestly, they're a very low maintenance, pleasant, neat reptile, and you can almost be sure nobody else has one. It's always fun explaining what they are and where they come from to friends!
Here's to a healthy pet, no matter what you decide to get!
