Went out a couple times but didn't see much. It is still too warm around my way for them to start moving. I will be out hitting it hard in a week or two, once the temp drops a bit.

Yeah the weather has really cooled down in the last week or two and its snowing at higher elevations (here in Canada)
Moose just opened so I am hoping to fill some tags here pretty quick!

I've been out a few times this year chasing whitetail with my bow (first time ever). Haven't dropped the string yet, but I've had a few small does within range. I've got Oct 28-Nov.5 to do some hunting (last 3 days are w/ firearm) so hopefully I'll stick one

Good Luck!
It snowed...So we went out this morning hoping to stumble upon a moose. Saw a few Muleys but all doe.
Hopefully get out again tommorow and have some better luck
At this point anything I see with horn is going down! We have hunted hard since the beginning of the season and havent seen much, with this snowfall they should be on the move. Just need to be at the right place at the right time.

Forgot to add:
I've got two tags, one either sex and one antlerless. I'll be focusing on getting ANYTHING via my bow during my time off, then focusing on antlers.
After all that is said and done, some of the REAL work begins!! I'm super stoked.
This winter I'll be stalking various fur over snow (ideally) and trying to harvest some small game via bow and arrow (or, if I get really adventurous, blowgun or slingshot), and trying my hand at soft-tanning at home. It's potentially a lot of work, but should be very rewarding.
The end goal is to use home-carved bone fish hooks and all natural self-harvested fur and other materials to tie flies for fishing.
Also I need some raccoon fur, I've got some plans in the works for a really wonky musky lure that combines some of the aspects of musky/pike flies, but is going to be heavy, BIG, and castable with a typical musky baitcaster.
