Haven't been yet this year. Been working 60 hour weeks. Always seem like overtime comes when hunting and rock fish come in season.

Same here. Thought it was going to be cool enough but it hasn't stayed that way long enough. Weird year for weather...high 70's in October in the Midwest...go figure!

That sucks! And never fails, everyone else requests off the same time I'd like to be gone, lol! Nice that so many people like to hunt/fish but it sure doesn't help me fill my tags.

I just picked up the hunt/fish regulation booklets this past weekend at the Cracker festival. I may actually get out to hunt this year but I'm not sure yet.

    Re: Hunting

I went out with my Dad for the opener of gun/deer season here in Georgia. I am happy to be able to still do that with him as he is 74 and has already suffered two heart attacks and had triple bypass sugery. The second attack was when we were on a trip deer hunting while staying in a remote cabin in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It took over two hours to get an ambulance out to us and took him to the closest hospital which was over 40 miles away, in an ice storm I might add. By the time he was in the ER, he started crashing and they had to utilize thrombolysis to get him through it. Really thought I was going to lose him right then.

Anyways, Saturday we were hunting and I took a 4 point that dressed out at about 110 lbs. I am glad it wan't really any bigger as I had about a 500 yard drag to get it out of the woods and I am pushing 50 myself. Being from MI, alot of the terrain is more flat than here. So this drag through the hills of Georgia, kicked my butt pretty well. Totally worth it though as there is nothing better then fresh venison tenderloin sauteed in butter with a little garlic pepper and onion salt.
