Will a ball python eat if it is already full?

As in will they over eat? I fed Salazar a big pinky rat (almost a fuzzy) and then a few hours later a small hopper mouse. He doesn't look over extended at all and does Not appear to be too big around. He's acting normal by all accounts, but we did just get him a week ago (first feeding, It was AWESOME). But the thought crossed my mind; will they eat if they shouldn't? Or are they smart enough to not eat when they're full?

Yes, they will eat more than they need

Sometimes. When they're fed a meal smaller than they might have preferred, they'll often readily accept a second prey item. When they're in between sizes, feeding them two prey items in a single sitting is one way to get them full without over extending them with too large of a prey item.

I wouldn't recommend it...

only real problem with feeding until the snake is full is that it makes it hard to keep a feeding schedule...

he might not want to eat next week because he is still full...

this really depends on the size of the previous meal in relation to the bps size.
