So I posted a bit ago about having a hognose who I had to sadly return to the reptile store I got it from(my thread is on this message board). I have recently got a baby ball python and he seems to be doing great! (hope this image scales down, sorry if it doesn't XP) Does he look like a normal? The ones he was with looked so dull compared to him, I figured he might have a smidge of some kind of morph

The temps I have are 89-93 as a hotspot, about 83-85 as midcage, and about 78-80 as the coolside. He LOVES that little coconut, and I am today/tomorrow going out and buying a coconut to make him a couple more(cant seem to buy those anywhere near me). Since I am a very new snake owner I just asked the store to ring up whatever sized mouse they were feeding him, which was a pinky(which I though was too small) and it was confirmed when I saw him eat it. I got him to eat yesterday(a week from the time that the store fed him). He is a great eater and took all of about 5 seconds to convince him to eat, which I am surprised he did since I got him last sunday. which was a pinky(which I though was too small) and it was confirmed when I saw him eat it.

And yes I know the whole thing about fishtanks for fish not snakes, I do plan to get a PVC or build something similar after the christmas holidays.

My biggest question here is I had this analog hygrometer already, so I order a nice digital one online. When I actually found my analog one, it wasn't in the best of shape, though it seemed to still read the humidity ok. I have the digital one in the mail(should take about 2-3 weeks), and because of the condition of it I dont want to leave it in his tank, so I put it in occasionally for a few moments to get a reading and just leave it above the tank. Outside of the tank its reading 60%(I live in WA), should i trust it or should I continue to mist him everyday? Other than that any critiques would be cool, just want to make sure he is healthy and happy. Oh, also, besides popping I was told tail and spur length were a good indication of gender(though not as accurate) is that true?
