Any PVC or Melamine custom is going to be expensive. So if you're not looking to spend at least a couple hundred bucks on an enclosure, I would consider looking into something else. Like a tub and a nice thermostat. However, if the temperatures in your house are low (75 or lower), it will be very hard to maintain ambients in a tub. The tank might be your best bet after all in that instance. And for a baby, you can start with a 10gal, with a UTH ($20ish), thermostat (Hydrofarm off Amazon $30), digital thermometer with humidity (Accurite $12 at Walmart), RBI small hides (Reptile basics ~$20 once you include shipping), and then the substrate of your choice. You may want to have a heat lamp with a black light bulb or something for increasing ambient temps when it gets cold in your house.

rather "petite" for a BP. (she was underfed and we've been working on getting her caught up)

I've heard various comments- like- they dont need much room- just proper hides, water, temps, humidity etc.
(all which have been great in our tank- so far. but im sure if we upgrade size and stay with a tank, it will
be harder to control. But we have 1 BP and its my daughters "pet"- so i can't really imagine putting it
in a tub)

So...How long can she live in this tank size before we need to upgrade?
She still squeezes herself into her small hide from reptile basics. Last feeding she tried to drag her mouse in there with her. Of course that didn't work, and she was wearing the hide on top of her, while trying to eat. LOL She loves that thing- I think
i need to move her up to the next size in that as well- but the next one is so much bigger. not sure she
will like it as much.

Thanks for your opinions!
It is true that if you increase the size of the tank, temps and humidity are harder to control. At least until you figure it out, and then the problem will be maintaining it. Anyway, she can live in a 15 gallon tank until she is a good bit longer than her tank is. My ~800g male is still in a 20L, and will be until he gets to be maybe 1500g? Depending on his overall size. I had a big female in a 20L for quite some time too, before I upgraded her. But really, yes, proper hides and husbandry are the most important because these guys don't really move around much.

As to the hides, I'm in the same boat with my new baby mojo, Ares. He's squeezing into his small RBI hides, just barely, but the mediums are huge! (That's what my bigger male uses). So maybe someone can suggest something intermediate? I was considering getting a small, opaque container and cutting out an opening as an intermediate size. Not set on that yet though. So if anyone else can offer some feedback in that department, I would appreciate it as well.
