What they meant was feeding smaller meals more frequently puts on weight faster. Feeding very small babies meals slightly smaller than their girth on an every 4-5 day schedule, and then moving up to a 5-7 day schedule once they are a few hundred grams or more is a great way to get the size on them that most of us want in the first year.
