really? so can i just use a regular bulb, so i can watch it through out the day?

You don't want to use a regular bulb, because you would need to turn the light off at night, when temps tend to be lowest. Use an infrared bulb (not just red-colored) or a ceramic heat emitter (doesn't put out light) so you can leave it on at all hours.
