Pastel Color
I got a pastel girl (supposed to be 2-3 months) from a breeder about a month ago. I know that pastels tend to brown out as they get older. When I got Iris, she had an invisible line down her sides where below she had a lighter gold color and above it, she had a darker yellow and almost no blushing. Since her first shed with me, her gold color is starting to go higher and a ton of blushing is coming out. The breeder said possible YB. Is this normal for a pastel? Do they lighten before they darken ? And does it usually take time for their blushing to come out?
She also has a bit of white in places on the sides

Re: Pastel Color
pics would help. i doubt it being yb since pastel ybs are easy to i.d. but pastels either get dark or light as they shed. blushing starts to show and the white on the sides woud be the flames coming up from the belly

Yeah, the "invisible" line you are talking about, is what some people call the brown out line on pastels.

Re: Pastel Color
Thank you I had never heard anything about it on young pastels; only about when they're older

Re: Pastel Color
looks normal for a pastel. if it hasn't gone into shed that explains why she looks brown meaning she is about to shed
