    I was thinking that but I just don't think so only because I don't feed her live rats. I have them put to sleep....forever, before I feed them. Rats are smart and I'm afraid they will hurt her

    Well you just said you fed her a live rat. It can happen very fast and it's very hard to tell what's going on between rat squiggling/squeeling, and the snakes coils. I'm not saying for sure that's what happened; just that it can happen A LOT faster than you think.
