Cage requirements.
I might be picling up my first BCC tomorrow and He is a 2011 hatchling and around 4 foot, he comes with a 40 gallon breeder, how long will this tank be suitable for him?

Depends on the snake, some grow slower and some spurt really quickly. My Colombian BCI male was roughly 2 years old before I needed to upgrade him to his 4' cage. If yours is already at ~4' I'd look into getting a cage/viv here pretty soon.

Boas don't hatch, they're live bearers. Depending on the growth rate, it should be okay for a while. Then again, you could get right into a boaphile or animal plastics enclosure.

Re: Cage requirements.
Well, I hope you can keep it in the tank for a while. If you order a Boaphile 421D, it takes a while for Jeff to build it after you make the payment. I'm not sure how long, but you may want to look for some used/sale enclosures if you think you need one fast. From the reading I've done the BCC's are supposed to grow slow, and then ultimately get a bit larger than the BCI's.
