I know things look pretty dark right now. This happened to me once. I left a job I worked in for 11 years to go with a company that let me go within about six months. I was devastated. There are two ways to look at your situation, as one that has ruined your life or an opportunity to retool and do what you want. I decided that I wanted to re-tool. I took a job that paid less, but gave me fewer hours so I could go to school. I finished my degree and now make several times the amount I did at the job I was fired from. As hard as it was, I look back now and see that it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I could have stayed at the job I worked for 11 years and been comfortable, but not happy.

Seize the day. Look at what you really want and use it as an opportunity to make the changes you need to make. Make this the best thing that happened to you in your career. Chin up and good luck!
