Should I be worried about a Pewter for $250?

Guy on CL is selling a female pewter for $250. From what I can see, a female pewter is $600 for a 2012 (which this is). It definetely looks like a pewter, the explanation is that he really just needs the money. Will have to do my due dillagence on this one.

Pewters have gone drastically down in price. I've seen males go for $250. Females for more obviously. $600 sounds like a 2011 price. I just bought a female Black Pewter 100% het hypo from a reputable breeder for $500. And Black Pewters have more value than cinny pewters. I think the pewter you listed is cheap because it's a CL local sale. Maybe even double check to see if that snake is male. Because if it is, that's the going price. And if its female, that's a great deal.

Make sure it's definitely a female before you buy it.

Try looking at Kingsnake classifieds for comparable prices.

Sometimes you can get a great deal on craigslist from someone sincerely in need of money and has no time to haggle on price. However most "great" deals turn out to be nightmares. If your confident on your ability to accurately sex the animal and feel you are capable of determining the overall health of the animal its worth a look. If you go that route and all looks good still use proper QT procedures just to make sure. Either way you go Good luck!

I got my pewter for $300.

Definitely check the sex twice to make sure the sex is correct, but the price isn't TOO off.
