Clean old tank stuff
Hey all
a friend of mine gave me some fake plants vines rocks and some hides the ones that look like rock piles and stuff. but theyve been in a box out in his shed and there kinda dusty and dirty ... so i am wondering whats best to use to clean them ???

Diluted bleach and hot water is your best bet.

I'm not a fan of bleach and water, but if you want to go that route 1 part bleach to 10 parts water should be good. make sure that you rise everything off/air them out until you can't smell the bleach anymore.
I prefer Chlorhexidine or F10 as they are much safer and don't require any air out time.

I prefer to use F 10 but you can always use Healthy Habitat spray. Both work, but F 10 is a lot more powerful.

I like F10 too, but its not easy to find locally without getting ripped off. Bleach is easier to find for people who are unfamiliar with F10 and probably already have it around the household.

Dish soap works, but it's obviously not as strong as bleach or F10.

Use a diluted bleach solution. A few tablespoons of bleach per gallon is enough. Use warm water, not hot water.
