Humidity Control?
I know there are lots of post on this, but i want to put out my situation. I live in wasington state and it gets pretty cold here. I'm expecting my first three ball pythons soon and i want to make sure the setup will be good enough. I am using a economy plastics four shelf rack with a herpstat 1. I bought some sterilite tubs for it but im not sure how many holes i will need for humidity. If there is anyone here that uses the same rack that can tell me what they did it would be great. The EP racks are pretty open and as i said it gets pretty cold here. I want them to be as comfortable as possible! Please give me any advice on your experiences.
If anyone needs pictures of my setup or anual weather numbers for where i live, just ask away.

Number of holes needed for keeping humidity is different for everybody as there are a lot of things that determine humidity levels. Start with a few then add more if you need them. It is much easier to add holes then to remove them.
Racks are dependent on having a warm room, this is espicially the case with open style racks like the AP economy line. The cool side of the tubs will be the same temperature as the room is. This means that if the room gets colder than 75 degrees you will have to heat the room.

Re: Humidity Control?
I understand experimenting with it is important and likely what i will do, but where should i drill the holes for my tubs? in the front and back where the tubs are exposed or on the sides too?

Wherever you would like the holes! I, personally, have holes on all sides of my enclosures (thinking back on it, I have a few too many holes and would have rather just put them on the sides). However, that said, I do know people who only have holes on the front, some on the front and back, and some only on the sides. It's really about what fits you and gets you the humidity that you want.

Try 4 on the upper sides of the tub and 2 on each end and go from there.
You will probably end up about 6-8 per side and 4 on th ends, but as mentioned it's better to have to add a few than to cover them up.

I am going to mention the easiest method especially with a rack that likes controlled room temps is to add more holes than you need and humidify the room to 60% easy and no risk of not having enough ventilation.

Re: Humidity Control?
What size of drill bit do i need to make the holes? I'm using sterilite tubs too.

I would suggest a cheap soldering iron with a pencil tip, this eliminates the risk of cracking the tub/sharp edges left by a drill bit. You should be shooting for holes in the 1/4"-3/8" range.

This thread goes over the process, it really is very simple. Don't over think it.
