GHOST/HYPO_BALL_PYTHON
Scientific Name: Python
regius
Common Name:
Ball
Python
Morph:
Ghost or Hypomelanistic

Genetics: Color Mutation - Simple Recessive ( NERD
)

Ghost ball pythons are
hypomelanistic........meaning lacking/reduced black and dark pigments ( browns
and blacks ). They seem to come in may different flavors too? Through the years
there have been green, yellow, orange, butterscotch and gray "GHOSTS".......they
all are beautiful to see in person..........the reduction of dark pigment makes
them appear "soft".............sometimes even blurry/hazzy to look
at............thus calling them "GHOSTS"..........for their ghostly
appearance...........oooooooooowwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Breeding the ghost as we
call it......which is really a hypo, to an axanthic or anerythristic will
produce the "TRUE GHOST"...........this is a project I hope to get double hets
from in 2002..........axanthic x yellow ghost = double het for "True
Ghost"........a True Ghost should look like a super ghostly
axanthic.............once the "True Ghost" is produced.........it can be bred to
an albino to produce double hets for BLIZZARD!!!!!!!!!

There is nothing normal
looking about a "Ghost" ball python..........thats for sure.............A Ghost
/ Hypo will shed clear like an albino ball python.............A very "Ghostly"
looking head..........and over-all appearance makes this mutation very desirable
in collections today.............Notice how the dark areas have light color
"blushing" through?
