I think its a combo of the morph/lighting but they look like they have a slight blueish tinge to them imo too...

Unless my calculations are off, there cannot be any Pewters. This was from Super Pewter(Urban Camo) X Pewter (original mother). I could be wrong though.

I say this with the utmost respect for you and this rokken project, but I believe your calculations may be off. Pewters are not homozygous for pastel, so the dam isn't guaranteed to have thrown a pastel gene and you could have some pewters in there. (However, everything should be a pewter at a minimum, as the sire was homozygous for both cinny and pastel.)

That being said, the only one that even look a bit pewter-ish to me is the 1st one, and even with him, I couldn't say 100% ... He just looks a lot darker than his sterling sibs in the picture. Pretty awesome clutch!!



So is that degree of wacky, broken pattern normal for silver bullets, or do you think the really cool one in the last picture has some "urban camo" influence?

I appreciate the clarification. I wasn't exactly sure of the possibilities. The pics are actually a little darker than the snakes really are, but iPhones aren't the best for capturing true color.

As for the silver bullet, I believe there is definitely some "urban camo" influence happening. What I'm really stumped about is the super fading some of these animals have. I've seen mention of a vanishing pattern gene floating around and wonder if I have something similar in the works.

The theory of the het pied gene causing the disruption in the silver bullet and super pewters...among others.

None of these animals are pied or 100% het pied. It is our theory that the het pied gene may be expressed in these animals. I can pick out het pieds from my possible het animals....so far I've been 100%. There are plenty of markers.

The Urban Camo is one of my favorite snakes of all time, and it is fascinating to see your project develop. Vanishing pattern is a great way to describe what is going on. It will be interesting to see if it's a het pied phenomenon and/or something more. Thanks for sharing the pics and keeping us updated. Good luck!
