Hello all I'm semi new to Snakes and considering my first ball python :)

Heya all my first post is an introduction and question. my experience level with snakes is around the age of 17-19 I owned a kingsnake but had to get it out of my parents house and now that it's just me and my wife I miss having a snake. Now my questions are as follows. how easy (relative) is a ball python over say a kingsnake? as far as ease of care and such. Also what would be the best cage out of glass tank or other choices? any advice or suggestions would be appreciated ether by pm or whatever so thanks for the time in advance

I own both BP's and a kingsnake, and I'd say that they are about the same as far as difficulty goes.

Glass tanks aren't the best due to the issues with heating and maintaining humidity (especially with larger tanks) PVC Reptile cages or Tubs are the best choice.

The only downside to tubs is that if the room the tub is kept in drops below 75 degrees you will need to heat the room so that it stays above 75 year round (and closer to 80 is preferred)

Ok now I have looked at the AP-T8 and am kinda leaning on that particular habitat does anyone have firsthand experience with that particular brand/type habitat? also how easy would it be to build a decent habitat d.i.y. style (as my dad can do it) any additional advice would be great and tyvm for making me feel welcome

I own a bunch of AP cages T8's T12's, and soon T25's Top notch quality and great customer service. If you have any questions I can probably answer them.

DIY is a little more complex than just building, you need to source the proper materials first. Wood doesn't handle humidity well, and is very hard to heat through. It can be done but by the end of the build you probably aren't going to save that much money.

PVC sheets, and melamine are best.
