Poll hatchling feeding schedule
We are not talking about how to feed the non eating hatchlings here, we are talking about how we feed the eating hatchlings.. I wonder how you guys feed your holdback, you definitely want them to grow fast especially for the precious males, so how did you do that without making them getting too fat? what is the ideal schedule..
I'm making 4 poll options here, let me know what you guys usually do and maybe some explanation on it. Thanks

I feed every 5 days with a meal that is slightly smaller in proportion to the snake than I feed my juvies and adults. From my understanding feeding more often just puts more food on top of a meal that has not been fully digested.

Problem Feeder Hatchlings:
I offer all hatchlings rat pups, typically more mobile pups as I find this stimulates a good feeding response. If I have a hatchling that does not feed on the pups after a several feeding attempts I will flip to hopper mice. Once they are eating consecutive meals I move them back to rat pups.
Problem feeders are not always a result of the snake though, husbandry can play a huge part in a snake that is not eating.
Hatchlings:
As mentioned above. We feed appropriately sized rat pups (the pups are roughly the same size or slightly bigger then the thickest section of the snake) every 5 days. Once we have the hatchlings on a solid feeding schedule we move to 5-7 days.
Holdbacks:
All depends on the size of the snake and remember it is not a race! Again, we feed an appropriate sized prey item on a 5 to 7 day feeding schedule for hatchlings and a 7 day schedule for juveniles and adults. During breeding season our feeding pattern fluctuates depending on the animal.
All of our animals feed on live rats, no F/T here.

Re: Poll hatchling feeding schedule
I feed my holdbacks and the babies I intend to sell the exact same - they will grow as quickly as they're meant to grow, and I'm comfortable waiting a little longer if I have to for them to reach breeding size. So one appropriate sized meal a week, that's it!

Every three to five days untill they slow down growing. Then once a week

Twice a week with a 21 day rat, small ones, until they reach 400-500g. Then once a week. I offered them twice a week wich doesnt mean they will eat twice a week, sometimes they just pass, and its ok.

A combination of these two thoughts.
