    quick popping/probing question.

    hey, how is the community doing today? well i just have a question about a female probing deeper than others. i talking about like 6,7 scales almost. but my other females 3,4 scales. my males tho go to 10 or 11. so i was just wondering if this ever happened to anyone?

    That is unusual indeed, smaller males can probe to only 6 or scales are you positive it is a female? How old is it and how long have you had it?

    Did you possible push to hard? If you dd you might have put a hole, causing it to go deeper

    I have one female pastel that I bought as a male. She was probed to 6 on both sides by the breeder in front of me, but when I got home I couldnt pop her (she was about 200g at the time). No one else could pop her either, so I decided to grow her up as a female. 3 years later she gave me a clutch! Seems like there are some females that probe a little deeper, so I always pop to confirm when they are in that window.

    This is why probes suck...


    No ball pythonis unpop-able and learning to pop so you can see the organs is imo the only way to safely sex a ball python especially for someone new to sexing a snake.
