Sealed and tiled? Their the self sticky kind but seem to work all right cept for some over lapping I had to do

It's like melamine(sp?) for the sheets but not melamine idk difference. I put three coats of polyurethane on it. The boards are 2x2s that I had from a different project

is pine ok for this type of build i now not to use it for substrate but is ok for this kinda build???

That wood is MDF, basically what is underneath the white in melamine boards. And yeah...it's HEAVY. Plywood would have been much lighter and still given the coverage you wanted. But it looks nice.
Oh, and the self adhesive vinyl tiles work quite well in reptile cages.

And pine... well it depends. If you can be sure that the pine is at least twice kiln dried then you should be ok. Remember, it's the oils in pine and cedar that are toxic, so if they've been all baked out the wood should be safe.

what about like plywood like what they use for subflooring ??? i only ask cause i dont know and i am looking to build a setup for a boa myself..

I've heard of people using sub flooring plywood. I'm not sure what the 2x2s are I'm pretty sure their not pine, my buddy used same kind for a ball cage and he's been in it for a couple years now no problem so I figured if I use same wood I'll be ok too. Like I said its my first big display type of enclosure ive just done dyi tubs before this one.

I love building stuff haha I never draw out my designs tho I just start and see what I end up with, good luck with the boa cage! I used minwax superior durability for sealing the wood that was the biggest pain in ass too I wish I would have sealed everything before I put it together

i was wondering about that. sealing that is.. what about like a nontoxic exteior paint? just to cover the plywood?
