Which way to run the heat tape?

So I will be building a new rack in a couple of months. It will hold both 41 qt and 28 qt. Basically each shelf will either hold one 41 qt or 2 28 qt. Now to try and paint the picture. The long axis of the rack will be the front and back, the short axis will be the sides, this is the same for the 41 qt tubs. Now the 28's will have their short axis in the front and back with the long axis on the sides. I planned on running the heat tape along the long axis of the rack it's self. That would put the heat tape on the short axis in the back of the 28 qt tubs like I want but it will run the length of the long axis of the 41 qt. I don't really think it will matter, just wanted to see what you guys thought about it. Hopefully this isn't to confusing.

I think as long as you're providing the adequate hot spot with enough room for a proper temperature gradient (hot side and cool side), you can run it whatever way you want.

I had it like that before I had to go to Japan. It was only for a couple of months but it seemed to work just fine.
