My cat used to follow me into the snake room when I'd do homework as it doubles as my office. However, while she ignored the snakes most of the time, one night she and my 4 ft female normal got into a staring contest. Isis (snake) was periscoping out of her hide and scenting like crazy. Miley (cat) sat watching with her tail twitching. They were in a dead lock staring contest. So, I thought it was time to end it before the cat did anything stupid to make Isis strike at the glass. When I reached for her, she turned around and mauled my arm. Still have scars. I guess she thought she was prey. Kinda silly on my part, but she has never been allowed in there again. And I think it's best that way. No doggies or kitties in the snake room! Regardless of which room that may be in your house.
